In Rainbow Six Siege (Year 11, Season 1), rotations have evolved from simple "holes in the wall" to complex tactical funnels designed to waste attacker time and utility.
Here are the optimal rotation strategies for the current 2026 meta.
1. The "Vault-Only" Rotation (Anti-Rush)
Standard walk-through rotations are becoming a liability against high-speed entries like Ash or the new Solid Snake.
The Setup: Use a shotgun or impact grenade to create a hole at waist height, leaving the bottom of the wall intact.
Why it works: It forces players to perform a vault animation, which locks them into a predictable movement path and creates a distinct sound cue. This prevents attackers from sprinting through your rotation during a chaotic execute.
2. "Double-Swing" Site Links
With the rise of Fenrir and Melusi in the "slow-down" meta, defenders are using wider, double-hole rotations between bomb sites.
The Setup: Instead of one small hole, blow out two separate rotations on the same wall, usually separated by a single reinforcement or an Azami Kiba Barrier.
Why it works: It forces attackers to hold two different angles simultaneously. If they push one, a defender can "swing" from the other, making it much harder for attackers to clear an anchor who is dancing between the two openings.
3. Foot-Holes as "Soft Rotations"
In 2026, "Soft Rotations" are used to contest space without physically moving through it.
The Setup: Open the entire bottom strip of a soft wall (foot-holes) leading into a high-traffic hallway (e.g., Kanal Basement or Bank Lobby).
Why it works: It prevents attackers from walking up to the wall to plant or breach. They are forced to drone or use utility to clear the "threat" of a defender lying prone on the other side. This essentially extends your site's influence without requiring a physical presence in the hallway.
Map-Specific Rotation Essentials (Current Ranked Pool)
Map | Site | The "Must-Have" Rotation |
Kafe | Kitchen | A vault-rotate from Kitchen into Small Bakery. Pair this with head-holes into the corridor to prevent a fast VIP entrance. |
Bank | Basement | A rotation between Red Hall and Server. Crucial for countering Ram or Ace pushes from the hatches. |
Oregon | Laundry/Supply | A rotation from Laundry into Supply, but reinforced on the Laundry side to allow defenders to "impact trick" the wall if it's breached. |
Villa | Aviary/Games | A rotation through the "90" hallway wall. Use Azami to create a pixel-peek rotation that overlooks the main stairs. |
Pro-Tip: The "Azami Rotate"
A common high-level tactic now involves blowing a massive hole in a soft wall and "shrinking" it with an Azami Kiba Barrier.
The Tactic: If attackers start to gain control of that area, you can shoot the barrier to instantly close the rotation, cutting off their line of sight and forcing them to find a new route. This "living defense" is the cornerstone of the Year 11 meta.
